The website americanforests.org reported that Meryl Streep can now be heard narrating public service announcements for AMERICAN FORESTS, the nation’s oldest nonprofit conservation organization and a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration. The new PSAs are currently airing on ABC, CBS, HGTV, Animal Planet, and dozens of local network television affiliates and cable companies across the United States. Streep recently recorded the PSAs while she was in New York City, appearing in a theater production in Central Park.

An all-star cast including actors Paul Newman, Meryl Streep, Philip Seymor Hoffman, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts will collaborate, in November, on a revival and adaptation of The World of Nick Adams by A. E. Hotchner and Aaron Copland. The work, originally broadcast by CBS-TV in 1957, will be presented at New York’sAvery Fisher Hall on November 19. The piece, which is based on the short stories of Ernest Hemingway, hasn’t been performed since its initial airing on television. The performance will be a benefit for Newman’s Association of Hole in the Wall Gang Camps, which services children with life-threatening diseases.

Christopher Reeve joined some 1,000 friends and donors at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City Tuesday for “A Magical Evening: Discover the Magic,” a black-tie fundraiser for the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation. Helen Hunt hosted the event, which was attended by couples Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick and Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, as well as Billy Baldwin, Denise Rich, Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and Joe Pantoliano.

Hollywood.com reported that ten years after it became a sensation on Broadway, Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning gay-themed play Angels in America, May be coming to television as an HBO miniseries starring Al Pacino and Meryl Streep and directed by Mike Nichols, the New York Post reported Friday, citing a person close to the project. The project will be a joint production between HBO and A venue Pictures and would be aired as six one-hour episodes, the newspaper said.

Nicolas Cage has agreed to take a starring role in the movie ‘Adaptation’, and now Variety reports that serial Oscar nominee and two-time winner Meryl Streep has joined him. Adaptation, which is being characterized as a dark comedy along the lines of Malkovich, tracks the struggles of the screenwriter Charlie Kaufmann to draft a script based on sometime New Yorker essayist Susan Orlean’s The Orchid Thief. Cage will play Kaufmann, Streep is considering playing the part of Orlean.

Excellent news! The Associated Press reports that Oscar-winner Marcia Gay Harden (Best Supporting Actress for “Pollock”) has joined the already astonishing cast of ‘The Seagull’, which opens July 24th. The players, including Streep and Harden, as well as Kevin Kline, Christopher Walken and John Goodman have their last show on August 10 at the outdoor Delacorte Theater.

The Mike Nichols directed “The Seagull”, starring Meryl, Kevin Kline and Natalie Portman, will be performed at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park -the place, where Meryl started her career in the 1970s.

Emmy-winner Allison Janney is going to play her lesbian lover in the upcoming ‘The Hour’s’. Janney and Streep previousley worked together in “First Do No Harm”
