Coverage for this year’s Critics Choice Movie Awards will be, unfortunately, short. The Best Actress award went to Viola Davis for “The Help” – and there are only a couple of pictures of Meryl from inside the ceremony, no red carpet as always ;-) Nevertheless, I’ve added the Best Actress segment to the video archive as well as pictures and captures to the image library.
As most of you probably know, Meryl has attended the Ellen DeGeneres Show today to promote “The Iron Lady” – the first of two talkshow appearances today, as she’ll be on Jimmy Kimmel Live as well, not to mention today’s Critics Choice Movie Awards. A longer excerpt from the appearance has been added, in which she talks about the National Women’s History Museum. The full segment will follow. Also, HD captures have been added to the image library.
Meryl’s interview on the French talkshow Le Grand Journal has been added to the video archive. Her segment is short but funny, especially the card trick. Additionally, find captures from the interview in the image library.
Lots of television programmes and news outlets have aired their interviews with Meryl Streep about “The Iron Lady” today. All interviews were conducted at the UK or US press junkets for the film. There’s also a funny segment from French television on the Paris premiere of the film. A list of the latest additions can be found below the previews.

On January 08, “The Andrew Marr Show” featured an interview with Meryl on “The Iron Lady”, her career and upcoming projects (on which she mentions “a sex comedy with Tommy Lee Jones ;-). The full appearance can be watched in the video archive, with pictures from the taping of the interview added to the image library. Thanks to everybody for the heads-up!
Two additional clips from “The Iron Lady” have been added, one featuring the older Margaret, discussing recent politics at a dinner party, the second is a larger excerpt fro a previously posted clip in which Margaret talks to Denis and thinks back to her active political time. Then, there’s a lenghty interview from the press junket in London – as conducted by Danish television (thanks to Anna for guiding this to me). Enjoy the new clips.
I’ve replaced the previously added featurette on “The Iron Lady” with a longer version, featuring more interview bits by Meryl and the cast of the film as well as a couple of new and extended scenes. Additionally, HD captures have been added to the image library.
Three new video clips have been added to the archive. The firt is a compilation of tv reports on yesterday’s London premiere, featuring interviews with Meryl, Phyllida Lloyd, Jim Broadbent and other cast members. The second is a lenghty interview by Film Four with Meryl and Phyllida. The third is a report by Extra, filmed during the US press junket for the film. Enjoy the new clips.
A new US featurette for “The Iron Lady”, featuring a bunch of new and extended scenes from the film, has been added to the video archive. And a couple of new pictures from the set have been added as well. Check back later today for coverage on the London premiere.
I hope you’ve all had wonderful Christmas holidays and look forward to celebrating New Year’s Eve. The past week had lots of new appearances which have been all added to the archives. First and foremost, the Kennedy Center Honors were broadcast on December 27, and Meryl’s complete segment can be found in the video archive.
It was a wonderful tribute by her colleagues and the introduction clip featured an array of unseen images of her early stage work. Still, I found that the segment was badly cut and much was left out. If you read the articles that were written after the ceremony took place December 05, you wonder why Nora Ephron’s speech was cut out completely, as well as parts of the fantastic speeches by Tracey Ullman and Robert De Niro. Still, the musical tribute by Kevin Kline, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci and Anne Hathaway – revising Meryl’s interpretation of “He’s me Pal” from “Ironweed” is worth a watch! A fantastic show. HD screencaptures from the ceremony have been added to the image library as well.
Then, also on December 27, CBS’ The Early Show aired a previously taped interview with Meryl, in which she talks about being a Kennedy Center Honoree and “The Iron Lady”. Also added to the video archive are two additional clips from the White House Dinner as well as an interview compilation for “The Iron Lady”.
Last but not least, lots of additional pictures from 2011 public appearances have been added to the image library. Click the previews below to launch all recently added event pictures.
