A surprising post-Oscar appearance, Meryl has attended yesterday’s New York Philharmonics Spring Gala. Pictures from the event can be found in the image library.
Here’s the final update on last Sunday’s Academy Awards with lots of additional pictures from the show being added. Many thanks to Lindsey for her contribution and to Joan for the screencaptures. It looks like Meryl didn’t do any interviews at the red carpet, at least I couldn’t find any (if you found some, let me know). But there’s enough to look at anyway. A video clip, featuring all essential Meryl have been added, including her “dance segement” with Pharrell Williams, the epic selfie that broke Twitter, Ellen’s pizza delivery, and, of course, the Best Actress segment. You can watch the video by clicking above. And to revive all pictures from the show, have a look at the full list below. Enjoy.

Last night on his post-Oscars show, Jimmy Kimmel premiered what fans have been looking for all awards season: parody movie trailers based on classic viral videos. Among them is “Bitman Begins”, “based” on “Charlie Bit My Finger, and starring Chris and Liam Hemsworth as well as Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks! Short but funny, especially Streep’s “subtle” dialogue. Don’t miss the other videos as well, “Ameowadeus“, featuring Kevin Spacey, Christoph Waltz, Gary Oldman and Ben Kingsley, “Sweet Brown: Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That“, featuring Queen Latifah and Barkhad Abdi, and “David After Dentist Double Rainbow Oh My God!“, featuring Joseph Gordn-Levitt and Samuel L. Jackson. “Bitman Begins” can be found in the video archive, alongside captures and production stills in the image library.
Lots of additional pictures from yesterday’s Academy Awards have been added to the image library. This has been a fun ceremony, giving us Meryl dancing with Pharrell Williams, breaking Twitter records and eating pizza while Brad Pitt plays waiter – not bad for an Oscar broadcast. Check out the pictures from the red carpet and the show, with clips coming next.
The red carpet for the 86th Annual Academy Awards are in full swing and the first bunch of pictures have been added to the image library. There will be a live coverage of the ceremony on Simply Streep, so refresh the page and check the gallery for additions throughout the evening.

The Academy Awards take place next Sunday, so we have a full week to look back at Meryl’s past Oscar appearances. There’ll also be an addition to Simply Streep that is long overdue, an in-depth special on Meryl’s Oscar history, filled with background information, pictures and everything necessary to know. But for now, screencaptures from previous broadcasts that haven’t been added to the gallery yet are up, including her very first appearance as a nominee for “The Deer Hunter” in 1979 to her 2006 appearance, honoring her “A Prairie Home Companion” director Robert Altman. Prepare for plenty more Oscar updates these next days.

Fresh off the plane from a press tour in Paris to promote “August: Osage County”, Meryl Streep made a brief stop at Yale yesterday, and while on campus, gave a talk to the School of Drama community at the Yale Repertory Theatre. In her almost two-hour talk, Streep discussed topics such as how has she evolved as an actress over the years, how she chooses her roles, how technology has changed movie-making, and how she has found balance in her career and her home life. Two pictures have been added to the gallery.
Before we start focusing on the Academy Awards, let’s bring the recent appearances up to date. Over 250 additional pictures of Meryl attending the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice Awards as well as the recent Academy Awards luncheon and Paris premiere of “August: Osage County” have been added to the image library.
