"THEATER OF THE NEW EAR" SEEMS TO BE OFFICIAL Posted: 2005-03-05 | Source: Webmaster Although there is still no official statement on Meryl's involvement, the official website of St. Ann's Warehouse lists "Theater of the New Ear" to be performed this April with Meryl on their cast list. There is more information on the Official Website of composer Carter Burwell with the following plot description: This is a concert for music and text. It consists of two one-act plays, "Sawbones" by Ethan and Joel Coen and "Hope Leaves the Theater " by Charlie Kaufman. Carter Burwell will be composing music for both. Musicians and actors will perform without staging or set - in other words there will be no visual element. As the poster says "Leave your eyes at home." Among the actors are Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Peter Dinklage, Hope Davis and Meryl Streep. Joel, Ethan and Charlie are directing and Carter is conducting. The project is being produced by St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, where it will premiere the last weekend in April, 2005. It will be presented at the Royal Festival Hall in London May 13.
