Meryl mentioned to star in new Nancy Meyers comedy
Posted: 2008-08-08 | Source: Webmaster

According to Variety, Meryl Streep is in advanced negotiations to play the female lead in the untitled romantic comedy that Nancy Meyers will direct for Universal. Meyers is producing with Scott Rudin. Production begins in February. Streep will play the female in a romantic triangle with two men. The director, who made "Something's Gotta Give" and "The Holiday" for Columbia Pictures, made the deal to bring her next picture to Universal earlier this year. Streep is currently voicing a lead role in "The Fantastic Mr. Fox," the stop-motion animation adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel at 20th Century Fox. Thanks to everyone who informed me of this! Also, in terms of film news, "Julie & Julia" has a release date, according to the Internet Movie Database, it'll release US theaters on April 17, 2009.

Video additions
Posted: 2008-08-05 | Source: Webmaster

The video archive is back online (thanks Jess!), so some real rare finds have been added: Meryl's first ever talkshow appearance in January 1980 on The Today Show to promote "Kramer vs. Kramer" - many thanks to Alvaro for this great find! Then, her acceptance speech at the 2003 César Awards, winning their Honorary Award and two interview segments from the Biography documentaries on Cher (2003, although her interview looks like to be from 1996,1997) and on Bruce Willis (2005). Again, please note - although it's already written on the download pages - that it's NOT APPRECIATED to have any clips reproduced on Youtube or any other video sites. Many clips were contributed to Simply Streep only and should remain exclusively to this site. Thanks! And now enjoy the clips! :-)
