Here are the very first pictures of Meryl arriving at the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. She is nominated as Best Actress for “Julie & Julia”.
With many thanks to the fantastic Tina, we now have the complete video coverage of the Critics Choice Movie Awards – Meryl presenting the Joel Siegel Award to Kevin Bacon, winning Best Actress with Sandra’s speech as well plus Meryl’s press room interview! Enjoy! Also, Simply Streep has been listed on The Fan Carpet.
Hollywood Elsewhere has attended last night’s ceremony at the New York Film Critics Circle Award and has published a video of Meryl’s accepting her Best Actress award for “Julie & Julia”. The video can be also watched in the video archive. Don’t miss her fantastic speech!
Simona has kindly contributed a fantastic video clip of an Italian documentary on Meryl’s career, including an interview with Meryl that was taped at last year’s Rome International Film Festival. The documentary runs for 12 minutes and is really worth watching. So thanks Simona for sharing it!
A bunch of new video clips have been added to the video archive, including some real treasures – the personal favorite being Meryl’s acceptance speech at the 1990 People’s Choice Awards, winning Favorite Motion Picture Actress. While she has won six People’s Choice Awards between 1984 and 1990, Meryl has only attended twice, the first time being in 1986. If anyone has a video of this appearance as well, please let me know!
With all the recent news on “It’s Complicated”, don’t forget that “Julie & Julia” has released on DVD in the USA today, so be sure to grab your copy! I have added over 700 DVD captures from the film to the Image Library, so enjoy Meryl as Julia Child!
Tons of new material has been published today to promote the upcoming Christmas release of “It’s Complicated”. First, there are five new clips from the film, two news segments from Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, both featuring interviews with Meryl, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. Then, a lenghty interview with Meryl talking about the film. Thanks to Nora for the heads-up!
Besides the new videos, plenty of new production stills can be now found in the Image Library.
Meryl has attended the 32nd Kennedy Center Honors, paying tribute to her colleague Robert De Niro, among others. Pictures can be found in the Image Library with additional information below.
Meryl saluted Robert De Niro at the festivities last night, and she gave him a heartfelt tribute. Streep said of De Niro: “De Niro was it. Gold standard. He’s the one we all went to school, were inspired by, stole from.” Hundreds of performers would say the same about Streep, who has yet to collect a Kennedy Center Honor. In paying tribute to honoree Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner told his pal,
Because of you, I got to walk on the same stage as Meryl Streep, the greatest actress in the world, bar none.
CBS will air the Kennedy Center Honors at 9 p.m. Dec. 29. The other honorees are Bruce Springsteen, jazz great Dave Brubeck and opera singer Grace Bumbry. Thanks to Pam for the heads-up!
With thanks to the wonderful Rea we now have teriffic scans from the latest Vanity Fair issue! Enjoy :-)
