On Saturday, Meryl Streep was among the many celebrity guests (including friends and co-stars Cher and Rita Wilson) at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards’ pre-gala party. On Sunday’s show, Streep will be on stage presenting (and maybe also accepting Best Narrator for “Big Tree”, which would be her first Grammy win). While there is no official information what award Meryl will be presenting, chances are good she will be introducing Joni Mitchell’s first ever Grammy appearance. The 2024 Grammys will air live on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 8-11:30 p.m. ET/5-8:30 p.m. PT on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+.

On Wednesday, the Recording Academy announced a group of presenters – including Oprah Winfrey, Christina Aguilera and Meryl Streep – set to appear at the annual music awards show on Feb. 4. Additional presenters for this year’s Grammys include Lenny Kravitz, Maluma, Lionel Richie, Mark Ronson, Samara Joy, Taylor Tomlinson and more surprise guests. Hosted by Trevor Noah, the 2024 ceremony will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and feature performances from artists including SZA, Joni Mitchell, Billie Eilsh, Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Burna Boy, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott and U2. Streep herself is a nominee this year – her seventh Grammy nomination so far without a win – for her narration of the audiobook “Big Tree”, based on Brian Selznick’s novel. Yesterday, Meryl Streep won a Critics Choice Award as Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for “Only Murders in the Building”. Unfortunately, there’s not much more to say or show, since she didn’t attend the ceremony. Furthermore, the category was presented rather as a blink-and-you-miss-it side dish combined with Best Supporting Actor. She was nominated alongside Paulina Alexis (Reservation Dogs), Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Janelle James (Abbott Elementary), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary) and Jessica Williams (Shrinking). This is Meryl Streep’s fourth Critics Choice Award – she received Best Actress honors in 2009 and 2010 for “Doubt” and “Julie & Julia”, respectively, and a Best Actress in a Comedy award in 2016 for “Florence Foster Jenkins”.

On Friday, the cast of “Only Murders in the Building” joined on the red carpet at the American Film Institute’s awards luncheon, where their show was honored among the best television programs of 2023. The Screen Actors Guild Awards have announced their nominations this morning – and while Meryl was not included in the television actress category, she scored a nod as part of the ensemble cast of “Only Murders in the Building”. The awards will be a family affair for the Streeps, as daughter Louisa has also scored an ensemble nomination in the drama section for “The Gilded Age”. The 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be handed out on February 26, 2024, 8PM ET / 5PM PT, in a live ceremony to be streamed on Netflix.

Streep, who was on hand at the event to present Carey Mulligan with the International Star Award, took the stage following the presentation of an earlier award to Billie Eilish and Finneas for their hit song “What Was I Made For?” Before presenting to Mulligan, Streep told the duo, “I just want to say to Billie and Finneas that you have delivered the Barbie love bomb. You’ve saved the movies last summer and all of our jobs. Meryl Streep has broken a Golden Globes record – her own. Streep came in to Monday’s Globes nominations with 32 nominations and eight wins and notched her 33rd nomination for her supporting turn as aspiring actress Loretta Durkin in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. It is her fourth nomination for her television work. She was previously nominated for the 1997 TV movie “First Do No Harm”; the 2003 miniseries “Angels in America”, which she won; and Season 2 of “Big Little Lies”. “Only Murders in the Building” proved to be a successful player at the Golden Globes, receiving 5 nominations for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy (Selena Gomez) and Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy (for both Steve Martin and Martin Short). The Critics Choice Association (CCA) announced the TV category nominees for the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards. “Only Murders in the Building” received two acting nominations – one for Steve Martin in the Best Actor in a Comedy Series category and one for Meryl Streep as Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. The winners will be revealed at the star-studded Critics Choice Awards gala hosted by Chelsea Handler, which will broadcast LIVE on The CW on Sunday, January 14, 2024 (7:00 – 10:00 pm ET – delayed PT, check local listings).

The Academy Museum Gala returned for its third year on Sunday night, honoring Meryl Streep, Michael B. Jordan, Oprah Winfrey and Sofia Coppola among an A-list group of guests. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Los Angeles event — which was originally scheduled for Oct. 14 but was delayed until December following Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel — serves as the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ marquee annual fundraiser, raising vital funds to support museum exhibitions, education initiatives and public programming; it has also quickly become one of Hollywood’s starriest nights. The gala raised more than $10 million in support of the museum, and presented four awards to reflect the its mission to advance the understanding, celebration and preservation of film and to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema. Greta Gerwig presented Streep with the Academy Museum Gala Icon Award, celebrating her significant global cultural impact, and Chloe Zhao presented The Visionary Award to Coppola.
