The cast of “Into the Woods” gathered at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater for an All Guild Q&A about the film. Participants were costume designer Colleen Atwood, producer John DeLuca, actors Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Meryl Streep, Tracey Ullman and Christine Baranski, producer Marc Platt, screenwriter James Lapine and cinematographer Dion Beebe.
On Colleen Atwood: Some of the most productive character work was working with Coleen, what she was telling me about the character through the clothes. She’s like an actor, she thinks like an actor. How the change would be for the witch was incredible. Things you can’t even see in the film, but I knew about. Just where the costume stuck into me made me miserable. That was all character.
